The 2023 Cleveland Clinic Children’s VeloSano T-shirt was inspired by 15-year-old patient, Madelyn. During chemotherapy treatment, Madelyn coped by exercising, bike riding, maintaining a positive mindset and singing Taylor Swift songs. Since her diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Madelyn recently achieved complete remission. She has since made the school volleyball team, obtained her driving permit and will be returning to school. Her sketch was influenced by positivity and the affirmation, “smile more.”
